HELMET STURDY --- INSTRUCTION FOR USE

 

INTRODUCTION

The Range of helmets have been designed to meet or exceed EN397:2000, EEC Directive 89/686/EEC and ANSI Z89.1-2009. They offer protection to the wearer against falling objects, consequential brain injury, and skull fracture.
The helmet has been certified by either TUV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH and complied with EN397:2000 or SGS-CSTC Co., Ltd. And complied with ANSI Z89.1-2003 specification for Industrial Head Protection as Type II Class G&C. These Safety helmets must be correctly assembled according to instructions to assure proper fit and protection.

FITTING AND ADJUSTMENT

For adequate protection, this helmet must be adjusted to fit the user’s head. Unauthorized helmet alterations are prohibited.

Installing the suspension

1. Turn safety helmet shell upside down. Place suspension inside safety helmet shell with brow pad toward front bill.

2. Insert the suspension tab into the respective tab slot. Push tab firmly until iy locks into place. Repeat for each suspension tab.

Adjusting the Suspension Size

Ratchet / Buckle suspension

Turn ratchet knob counter clock wise until headband opens to largest size, Place helmet on your head. Turn ratchet knob clockwise until headband is comfortable.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

Suspension Height (Vertical) Adjustment:

You DO NOT have to remove the suspension in order to vertically adjust the height . The suspension has two vertical positions: high and low. A custom fit can be accomplished by simply pulling the key peg out and inserting it into the desired slot height position on the headband.


CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE


NEVER ALTER OR MODIFY THE SHELL OR SUSPENSION SYSTEM.

ALWAYS USE OUR OEM REPLACEMENT PARTS.

Inspect your safety helmet shell and suspension regularly. Check for cracks, frayed straps and any signs of damage before each use. Replace the safety helmet immediately if you notice any signs of wear, damage, abuse or environmental degradation. If the safety helmet has sustained a forcible blow (impact), dispose of it immediately, even if damage is not visible.

Clean all components regularly with a mild detergent. Do not use paints, solvents, chemicals, adhesives, gasoline or like substances on this helmet. Such substances may destroy the impact resistance and other protective properties of the helmet without being apparent or readily detectable by the user.


STORAGE AND USELIFE:

When not in use or during transportation, this helmet should be stored in a container with paper or foam cushion to avoid damage.
Store in a ventilated place without direct sunlight and contact with any solvent. Suspension should be replaced after no more than 12 months of use.
Where the helmet is in use every day and particularly when used outdoors, we would anticipate that the helmet is discarded after 2 years in use. For indoor or occasional use, we would anticipate a life of 5 years from purchase provided that the helmet is stored in the correct conditions and is properly maintained.
Always replace the helmet after it has withstood an impact or penetration.

WARNING:

Failure to follow these warnings can result in altered helmet performances and many result in serious personal injury or death.
Never store gloves, cigarettes, earplugs, etc., between the suspension and the shell. Objects in this space can transmit large forces to the head and neck, resulting in serious injury or death.
Never use this helmet as a vehicular or sports helmet.
Never alter or modify this helmet in any way.
Never use paint, solvent, or hydrocarbon type cleaners (that is, thinner, gasoline, kerosene etc.) on the helmet. These may cause unnoticeable damage.
